"My class had such a blast meeting real life author Rosie Pova and pampering her with questions about the writing process!  I could see lights go on in their heads, getting excited about planning what kinds of stories they could write!"
--Ms. Woolley, Vial Elementary

"We were honored to have Rosie Pova visit our school for an   Author's visit. The first graders were captured from the first   minute of the presentation by holding their attention with   props, interesting story line, audience participation and fun   activities . . . Her heartwarming tale of motherly love, If I   Weren't With You, generated higher level thinking skills of what   it would be like to be separated from your mother.  It showed   the strong bond between Mother Bear and Baby Bear.  I would   highly recommend Rosie Pova for an author's visit your   students will love."–Mrs. Kent, Blanton Elementary, Carrollton

"Our PTA was so excited to have Rosie Pova visit Hickey Elementary. She was bubbly, upbeat and really encouraged our kids to try writing. My favorite part was listening to the kids create a story with her. Our goal was to give the students an opportunity to meet a real life author and she was the perfect choice!" --Tarrah L., PTA President, Plano, TX

"We were so fortunate to have the visit of Ms. Rosie Pova in our school during the Library Month Celebration. Her presentation was tailored for our students, they were able to ask one-on-one questions about her origin, career, writing and stories.

She is the real deal that will motivate your students to start writing their stories and read more."

―Dr. R. Badía, Franklin MS, Dallas, TX

I share writing tips, my journey to publication, what the best thing about being an author is, how to deal with rejection and why you should embrace it (really!), how to stay positive and persevere, and what the power of words is, plus more.

A few reasons why you might be interested in having me visit:

• I get rave reviews from teachers and librarians who are very impressed with my visits. I do deliver a great experience because I am passionate about inspiring children to follow their dreams, to explore their creativity and grow their confidence through reading, writing and creating.

• My picture book, If I Weren't with You (Clear Fork Publishing, 2017) is on the SCBWI Official Recommended Reading List for Texas and Oklahoma. It also received a 5-star review from Reader's Favorite, ending with: "
I am sure that this book will become one of your child’s favorite stories." Read the complete review here.

My other picture book, Sarah's Song, has been nominated for the Cybils Awards.
In addition, it was the Kirkus Reviews Editors' pick, featured in the February 1st, 2018 issue. Kirkus called it "A thoughtfully crafted story that offers a gentle means to talk about loss with children."  and "a heartwarming book." Read the complete review here.

• As an immigrant and non-native English speaker, I encourage kids to overcome roadblocks and not give up in the face of rejection. Through my personal story of perseverance, my journey and experience, I share ways to stay the course, believe in yourself, and reach your goals.

• My school visits have been met with great excitement by the students I've presented to; students will benefit from my presentations and writing workshops that not only support the curriculum, but expand their knowledge on the craft of writing.

• I am a Writing Instructor for the Dallas ISD  -- I've worked in different types of classrooms -- and my programs are always woven with educational and practical elements, presented in a fun way.
